In 2012, Jane competed in The X Factor, singing “If I Were a Boy” by BeyoncĂ©. She sang Mariah Carey’s “Hero” for her Bootcamp solo performance and is the only member of Fifth Harmony whose performance was broadcast and Jane sang “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” against Diamond White in her Bootcamp round and missed some of the words. She was eliminated from the competition during the Bootcamp phase. Despite this, she was asked to rejoin the female quartet now known as “Fifth Harmony,” together with Ally Brooke, Normani, Lauren Jauregui, and Camila Cabello. The team proceeded to the finals and came in third place. The group advanced to the finals and finished third.
“Miss Moving On” was Fifth Harmony’s first single. Better Together was their first EP in 2013, Reflection was their first album in January 2015, and 7/27 was their second album in May 2016.
